Living in the Arts

The city of Enumclaw’s Gallery 2017 presents “Living in the Arts,” a showing by painter Lyudmila Simpson.

Her work will be displayed through April 4 in Gallery 2017 at Enumclaw City Hall.

The city and 4Culture of King County welcome a return by the Enumclaw artist, who has had annual City Hall showings since 2011. She is active in the Enumclaw arts family, participates in three galleries and is a member of both Arts Alive! and Spectrum Creative Alliance.

Simpson experiments broadly with media and technique, bringing aspects or her earlier life in the Ukraine to more current experiences in Enumclaw.

“These days, I stay busy in my life while creating art with all my passion and inspiration,” Simpson said in a formal artist’s statement. Aside from painting, she works in real estate and as a caregiver and teaches chess to students at Southwood Elementary School.

Gallery 2017 is in council chambers at Enumclaw City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Hours for the exhibition space are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
